In this interview recorded for a local radio station back in April 2016, I discuss more about the origins of the Out-Thinking Parkinson's project. In the first part, I cover: why I recommend Counseling to people with Parkinson's; the importance of a holistic approach and doing your own research; quality of life interventions which can enhance healthcare support; the feedback between physical pain and mental anguish; how food and diet is very important.
In the second part, I relate my own background story and discuss some of the things we discovered along the way. I cover why: positive mental attitude and stress impact on the symptoms; what happens at diagnosis is important; it's not necessarily all downhill; using different parts of the brain is important to assist movement recovery and unlocking movement through applied neuroplasticity.
