Update, 13th May 2017
Below you will find the very first article we published for Out-Thinking Parkinson's, which was all about the "inevitable" long term side-effect of "Dyskinesia" - uncontrolled movement of the head and limbs - induced by the main PD drugs, and how to gain some temporary measure of relief from it. However, since that time we have implemented many Quality of Life interventions, which are described in later articles on this website. One of the remarkable outcomes is that I have managed to markedly reduce my Dyskinesia, whilst also increasing the "on" time (during which I have access to normal movement), as the video at the top of this article explains and demonstrates. It therefore appears that the uncontrolled flailing movements caused by drugs prescribed for PD is avoidable, with a proper holistic treatment pathway, even many years after diagnosis.

In this first entry, many of you will be getting a first glimpse of me and hearing my voice for the first time! But as far as first impressions go, please be warned: you might be shocked, for this was recorded purposefully when the side of effects of my medication were very acute. In fact, I often take another drug to alleviate these medication induced symptoms, so this is not my typical state. The important point to note however is that, over the course of years, without other interventions, what you see here in the initial part of the video will become a more and more frequent state for me. For those who experience such extremes with the condition on a daily basis, our total sympathy – we release this video for you.
